Minneola Health Care Services are a vital and integral part of the Minneola community. Although the population is approximately 700, the Hospital District provides health care for more than 1200. This includes the hospital, clinics, and the long term health care facility.

The Minneola District Hospital, which is a critical access hospital with 18 beds, including both acute and swing bed, is adjacent, as well as attached to, a 36-bed Minneola Long Term Care Unit. Its location makes it easily accessible to the medical staff.

The Minneola Clinic, which is attached to the Minneola District Hospital and the Long Term Care Unit, is associated with 2 outreach clinics located in Fowler and Bucklin and is currently assisting with the clinic in Ashland.   Two fulltime doctors, one parttime doctor, and four physician assistants provide services to the facilities.  A surgeon, based in Dodge City, also, performs surgeries in Minneola.  All of our doctors are Family Practitioners and two of them do obstetrics and outpatient surgery.  Long-range goals are to expand and remodel the hospital and Minneola Clinic and to acquire new and needed equipment, allowing our patrons more services locally.

We do offer Charity Care to those that qualify. To check qualifications go to the clinic or to the hospital for assistance.

Minneola Health Services also have excellent ancillary departments--laboratory, X-ray, physical therapy—and a dedicated staff of approximately 120 fulltime employees working in all the departments. A 5-member elected board of directors oversees the facilities with the assistance of an Administrator and the contracted services of Great Plains Health Alliance.

Minneola has developed a long-standing reputation of having a great school system, graduating many professionals—doctors, engineers, nurses, educators, and more. In the fall of 2006, the community built a new high school to further provide the students with the “best education” possible.

Minneola offers several church services representing several denominations.

Outdoor recreational opportunities abound. A county fishing and camping lake lies 15 miles from Minneola and there are excellent hunting areas for pheasant, quail, prairie chicken, ducks, geese and deer.  Several golf courses are within a 30-minute drive.
